- Interpretation：Our of the mouth comes evil. Better the foot slip than the tongue. The tongue wounds more than a lance. It will fail, if it speaks carelessly. Therefore, refrain from an utterance.
- 類義：口から生まれて、口で果てる。口は善悪の門、舌は禍福（かふく）の根。口は虎、舌は剣。口をして鼻の如くせよ。物言えば唇寒し秋の風。病は口より入り、禍は口より出ず。
